SVMCM Scholarship Scheme 2025 – Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria to apply for the SVMCM Scholarship:
Must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
Must be pursuing education in regular mode at one of the following levels:
- Higher Secondary: Students of Class 11 and 12 under WB Board of Secondary Education, WB Council for Higher Secondary Education, or Madrasa Education.
- Undergraduate Courses: Science, Arts, Commerce, Engineering, Medical, Technical/Professional courses from AICTE-approved institutes affiliated with WBSCTVE&SD.
- Postgraduate Courses: Science, Arts, Commerce, Technical/Management programs at recognized state universities or AICTE-approved institutions.
- M.Phil and Doctoral Studies: Non-NET JRF and NET-LS candidates from state-aided institutions.
Minimum Academic Requirements:
- Higher Secondary & Undergraduate: 60% marks in the last qualifying examination.
- Postgraduate (General Education): 53% marks for regular students and 45% for Kanyashree (K3) applicants.
- Postgraduate (Professional Courses): 55% marks in graduation.
Family Income Criteria: Total annual family income should not exceed ₹2,50,000.
Important Notes:
- Female students from West Bengal securing at least 45% marks in undergraduate courses and pursuing postgraduate studies in Science, Arts, or Commerce are eligible under the Kanyashree (K3) Scheme.
- Recipients of this scholarship cannot simultaneously receive any other state or central government scholarships for the same academic level.
- However, students can accept one-time grants or institutional fee waivers along with this scholarship.

The SVMCM Scholarship provides monthly financial assistance to students across various educational levels:
- Higher Secondary (Class 11 & 12): ₹1,000 per month.
- Undergraduate (Arts & Commerce): ₹1,000 per month.
- Undergraduate (Science & Professional Courses): ₹1,500 per month.
- Postgraduate (Arts & Commerce): ₹2,000 per month.
