Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship 2025-26

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, an applicant must meet the following conditions:

• Be an Indian national or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).
• Be currently employed in a permanent position in the engineering field at a public-funded institution in India.
• Possess adequate professional qualifications and hold at least a bachelor’s degree.
• Have a minimum of 5 years of remaining service at their current institution as of the award date.
• Not hold any other fellowship at the time of application.

Note:

• Previous applicants who were not selected are eligible to re-apply, provided they have at least five years of remaining service with their current employer.
• Applicants holding other fellowships must choose one fellowship to accept.

Fellowship Benefits

The 10 selected candidates will receive the following benefits:

• A monthly fellowship of ₹25,000 in addition to the regular income.
• An annual research grant of ₹15,00,000 for research activities.
• An annual overhead of ₹1,00,000 to the host institution for support.

Note:

• This fellowship is taxable as per the Income Tax rules of the Government of India.
• The initial fellowship tenure is 3 years, extendable to a maximum of 5 years subject to performance.
