Abel Visiting Scholar Program 2025

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics.
• Must be from a developing country.
• Should be employed at a university or research institution.
• Applicants should be in the early stages of their career, under 40 years of age as of the application deadline.
• The age limit may be extended for applicants with a disrupted career trajectory, provided the reason for the gap is included in the application.

Required Documents:

1. A comprehensive CV including recent publications.
2. A detailed research plan for the visit.
3. A formal invitation from the hosting institution, along with a letter of recommendation.
4. A copy of the Ph.D. certificate.
5. An estimated budget for the visit.
6. Confirmation of current employment status and position at the home institution, including employment duration, signed, and stamped by the employer.

Selection Criteria: The selection will be based on the quality of the proposed project and the anticipated benefits for the applicant's home institution and country.

Benefits: Successful applicants will receive up to USD 5,000 to cover:

• Basic living costs and accommodation.
