The Central Sector Scholarship Scheme of Top-Class Education for SC Students 2025 is a fully funded initiative by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, designed to support meritorious Scheduled Caste (SC) students pursuing bachelor’s degrees in premier institutions across India.
Launched in the Union Budget 2005-06, this scheme aims to empower SC students by providing them access to top-class education and reducing financial barriers. The scholarship covers full tuition fees, living expenses, books, and a computer/laptop with accessories to ensure a smooth academic journey.
With a 30% reservation for SC girl students, the scheme promotes gender inclusivity in higher education. It is open to Indian nationals who meet the eligibility criteria, including an annual family income limit of ₹8.00 lakh and admission to a notified top-class institution. The scheme is limited to a maximum of two siblings per family, and students must maintain academic progress to continue receiving benefits.
