Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the EWS quota, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Economic Criteria: Candidates must belong to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) from the unreserved category.
- Age Criteria: Applicants should be enrolled in Classes 1 to 8.
- Income Criteria: The family's annual income must be below INR 8 lakh (Note: The income ceiling may differ by state; for example, Kerala's limit is INR 4 lakh).
- Land Ownership:
- The family must not own more than 5 acres of agricultural land.
- The family must not own a residential plot of more than 200 square yards in a non-notified municipality.
- Property Ownership: The family should not own a residential flat of more than 1000 square feet.
Note: Family-owned properties across different locations will be considered together when assessing eligibility.

- Schools that implement the EWS quota provide a 100% tuition fee waiver for students admitted under this category, ensuring free education up to Class 8.

- The percentage of seats reserved for EWS students varies from state to state, typically ranging from 10% to 25% of the total seats.

Required Documents
When applying for the EWS quota, the following documents must be submitted by the applicant's parents:
- Income Certificate: Issued by the local tahsildar or revenue officer.
- Printed Application Form: A copy of the completed application form.
- Aadhaar Card: The student’s Aadhaar card.
- Self-declaration Form: A declaration confirming eligibility.
- Passport-size Photograph: Recent photograph of the applicant.
- Residence Proof: Document verifying the applicant's residential address.
- Caste Certificate: Certifying that the applicant belongs to the General category.
- Land/Property Documents: Proof of land or property ownership to ensure compliance with the property holding ceiling.
After submitting these documents, the school will verify their authenticity. Once the verification is complete, the student can join the school on the first academic day of the session.
How to Apply for EWS Quota
- Check Eligibility: Ensure that you meet the income and property criteria as specified by the government or state guidelines.
- Collect Required Documents: Gather all the necessary documents, such as income certificate, Aadhaar card, residence proof, and land ownership documents.
- Fill Out the Application: Complete the application form for EWS quota admission. This form may be available online on the school's website or can be obtained directly from the school.
- Submit the Application: Submit the completed application along with the required documents to the school.
- Document Verification: Schools will conduct a verification process to confirm the authenticity of the documents submitted.
- Wait for Confirmation: After successful verification, you will be informed about your child’s admission. The student can join the school from the first academic day.
