About the Program

The Food Bill Scholarship 2025, also known as the Meal Bill Assistance Program, is a crucial initiative designed to support students from non-reserved categories in the State of Gujarat. It is part of the Digital Gujarat Scholarship Program and provides financial aid to help cover the costs of meals for students living in hostels while pursuing their undergraduate programs.

How can you apply?

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Undergraduate Students residing in hostels.
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree program in Medical, Technical, Dental, or Para-technical courses at government or un-aided institutions.
  • Students must reside in hostels affiliated with the same government or un-aided institution.
  • Female students pursuing studies in Class 9 to 12 and residing in hostels managed by any society/trust/institution are also eligible.
  • The annual family income of the applicant must not exceed ₹4,50,000.
  • Hostels/students already receiving other grant support are not eligible.

Benefits:

  • ₹1,500 per month for 10 months (to be used for hostel food expenses).

Required Documentation:

  • Photograph and signature of the applicant.
  • Details of the hostel the applicant is staying in (Hostel certificate, fee receipt).
  • Bank details of the applicant.
  • Mark sheets/certificates of the last qualifying examination.
  • Income certificate/statement (from Taluka Development Officer/Mamlatdar/Chief Officer).
  • Unreserved class certificate (from Taluka Development Officer/Mamlatdar/District Social Welfare Officer/Deputy Director).
