IMU Breakout Graduate Fellowship Program, 2025

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants must be residents and citizens of a developing country.
• Must have been pre-accepted into a doctoral program in the first academic year following selection, at a university or research institution based in a developing country.
• Applicants must be currently enrolled in a doctoral program at a university or research institution in a developing country.
• Applicants should have a strong academic record.
• Applicants must have a serious interest in pursuing a career in research and teaching in mathematics.
• Nominations for female candidates are highly encouraged.

Benefits:

The successful applicants of the IMU Breakout Graduate Fellowship Program will receive funding of up to USD 10,000 per year, which can cover:

• Full tuition fees
• Accommodation expenses
• Travel expenses to the host institution (if different from the home country)
• Basic living expenses

Application Process:

1. PhD applicants cannot apply directly for the fellowship.
2. Candidates must be nominated by professional mathematicians, including retired mathematicians who mentor students.
3. The nominator should ideally have worked with the nominee and have mentored them in their academic journey.
4. Deadline: The application deadline for the IMU Breakout Graduate Fellowship Program 2025 is May 31, 2025.
