About the Program

About The Program

The Indus Towers Scholarship Program 2024 is an initiative offered by Indus Towers Ltd. (formerly Bharti Infratel Ltd.) through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts. The program is implemented by Shishu Sarothi Centre for Rehabilitation and Training and supports the education of disabled students from the North-Eastern region of India, including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Sikkim, and Tripura. The selected candidates will receive a scholarship of up to ₹70,000.

Eligibility

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an Indian national.
  • Be a disabled student with a benchmark disability of 40% or more, as certified by a disability certificate.
  • Be a resident of one of the following North-Eastern states of India:
    • Assam
    • Arunachal Pradesh
    • Manipur
    • Meghalaya
    • Mizoram
    • Nagaland
    • Sikkim
    • Tripura
  • Be between 18 and 35 years old as of 1st June 2024.
  • Be willing to pursue or currently pursuing full-time vocational training & skill-building courses (preferably recognized under sector skills by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET)) in the following categories:
    • Administrative, Accounting & Office Skills (e.g., Secretarial Practice, Tally)
    • Beauty & Cosmetology (e.g., Beautician, Basic Cosmetology)
    • Hospitality and Tourism (e.g., Front Office, Food & Beverages, Housekeeping, Catering, Back-Office)
    • Tailoring & Weaving (e.g., Sewing Technology, Weaving)
    • Electrical & Mechanical (e.g., Electrician, Mechanical Diesel, Mechanical Electronics, Plumber, Welder)
    • Agriculture & Farming (e.g., Organic Farming, Horticulture, Sericulture)
    • Computer & Digital Skills (e.g., DTP, Digital Marketing, Computer Training)
    • Music & Fine Arts
    • Cooking & Baking
    • Retail & Sales
    • Sports & Others
  • Must have passed Class 10/HSLC or an equivalent examination with at least 45% marks or equivalent CGPA.
  • Must belong to a Below Poverty Line (BPL) category or Economically Weaker Section (EWS) with an annual family income not exceeding ₹6,00,000.

  • The selected candidates will receive a scholarship of up to ₹70,000 each. A total of 70 youths from Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Nagaland will benefit from this scholarship.

Note Course fees are paid directly to the institution.

Documents Required

Applicants need to submit the following documents:

  1. A valid government-issued ID (e.g., Voter ID, Passport, Driving License).
  2. Income certificate (if applicable).
  3. Disability certificate.
  4. A recent coloured passport-sized photograph.
  5. Aadhaar card.
  6. Below Poverty Line (BPL) card (if applicable).
  7. Class 10 or HSLC marksheet.
  8. Class 12 or Higher Secondary marksheet (if applying for a program requiring it).
  9. Pass certificate/marksheet of graduation examination (if applicable).
  10. Pass certificate/marksheet of postgraduation examination (if applicable).
  11. Admission fee receipt for the current semester's course (if already admitted).
  12. Marksheet from the last semester exam you appeared in (if applicable).
  13. Course Prospectus, clearly showing the fee structure (if available and applicable).
