About the Program

The MAFSU Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Vasatigruh Nirvah Bhatta Yojna, Maharashtra 2024-25 is an initiative by the Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU), Government of Maharashtra, aimed at providing financial assistance to students from economically weaker backgrounds. The scheme is designed to support the children of registered laborers and marginal farmers pursuing higher education. Selected students will receive financial aid of up to ₹30,000 for 10 months to help with their living expenses

Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this scheme, applicants must:

  • Be a domicile of Maharashtra.
  • Be a child of a registered laborer, a marginal landholder (alpabhudarak), or both.
  • Be a hosteller (residing in a hostel).
  • Have secured admission in a recognized professional or technical undergraduate/postgraduate course.
  • Have taken admission under the general category.
  • Have attempted all semester or annual exams.
  • Maintain a minimum of 50% attendance in the previous semester (not applicable for newly admitted students).
  • Have an annual family income of less than ₹6,00,000.
  • Not have a gap of more than 2 years during the course.

Financial Assistance

The selected students will receive financial support for 10 months, based on the following criteria:

Category For children of Registered Laborers/Marginal Landholders For students with an annual family income up to ₹1,00,000 For students with an annual family income between ₹1,00,000 - ₹8,00,000
For institutions in MMRDA, PMRDA, Aurangabad, and Nagpur City ₹30,000 ₹10,000 ₹10,000
For institutions in other areas ₹20,000 ₹8,000 ₹8,000

Required Documents

Applicants must submit self-attested copies of the following documents:

  • Domicile certificate (proof of Maharashtra residency).
  • Registered labor certificate/Marginal landholder (alpabhudarak) certificate/Annual family income certificate.
  • Hostel accommodation proof.
  • Centralized Admission Process (CAP) related documents.
  • Attendance certificate.
  • Previous year's marksheet.
  • Gap certificate (if applicable).
  • Annual income certificate from the previous year.
  • Family declaration certificate (if two children from the same family are applying)
