About the Program

The West Bengal Minorities Development & Finance Corporation (WBMDFC), under the Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education Department, Government of West Bengal, offers the Merit-cum-Means Scholarship 2024-25. This scholarship provides financial assistance to students from specified minority communities and economically weaker sections in West Bengal. Selected students will receive admission fees up to ₹22,000 and a maintenance allowance of up to ₹11,000.

Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Must be a domicile of West Bengal.
  • Must have secured admission to a technical or professional course in a recognized institution within the state.
  • Must have obtained at least 50% marks in the last Higher Secondary (10+2) or Graduation examination.
  • The annual family income should be less than ₹2,50,000 from all sources.

Note:

  • Students residing in West Bengal but studying outside the state are not eligible, except for those enrolled in specific listed institutions notified by WBMDFC.
  • A list of eligible institutions outside West Bengal is periodically updated by WBMDFC.

Required Documents

  1. Caste certificate (if applicable).
  2. Marksheet of the last qualifying examination.

  4. First page of the bank passbook (showing account details).
  5. Institute verification form duly authenticated by the Head of the Institution (HOI) in the prescribed format.
