The ONGC Sports Scholarship Scheme 2025 aims to nurture emerging sports talent across India by providing financial assistance to young sportspersons from economically weaker sections. A total of 250 scholarships will be offered this year, with 50% reserved for female athletes. The scholarship duration is one year and may be extended to two years based on performance.
Must be an Indian citizen.
Age between 15 and 20 years as of April 1, 2025.
Annual family income not exceeding ₹5,00,000.
Should not be employed or earning from professional sports leagues.
Should not be availing any other government or private sports scholarships.
Senior players who have received international-level cash awards are ineligible.
Scholarship amount:
Sub-Junior: ₹15,000 (National) / ₹20,000 (International)
Junior: ₹20,000 (National) / ₹25,000 (International)
Senior: ₹25,000 (National) / ₹30,000 (International)
Free sports kits and coverage of domestic tournament expenses.
Health insurance up to ₹5,00,000 or reimbursement of insurance premium up to ₹7,000 per annum.
Direct transfer of scholarship amount to the recipient’s bank account.
Opportunity to represent ONGC in domestic tournaments.
