Post Matric Scholarship For Minorities
About the Program

A scholarship scheme by the Ministry of Minority Affairs for students from minority communities pursuing post-matric courses from notified institutions in India. Covers general, technical, and vocational courses including ITI, Polytechnic, UG, PG, M.Phil, and Ph.D. The objective is to support meritorious students from economically weaker sections to pursue higher education and improve employability.


Eligibility
  • Must be pursuing a post-matric qualification.

  • Must belong to a notified minority community.

  • Annual parental income ≤ ₹2,00,000.

  • Must have secured at least 50% marks in the previous final exam.

  • Not availing any other government scholarship.

  • Not more than two students from a family.

Benefits
  • Admission & Tuition Fee:

  • Class 11 & 12: ₹7,000/year

  • Technical/vocational courses (Class 11 & 12, >1 year): ₹10,000/year

  • UG & PG: ₹3,000/year

  • Maintenance Allowance:

  • Class 11 & 12: ₹380/month (Hosteller), ₹230/month (Day Scholar)

  • UG & PG (non-tech/vocational): ₹570/month (Hosteller), ₹300/month (Day Scholar)

  • M.Phil & Ph.D.: ₹1,200/month (Hosteller), ₹550/month (Day Scholar)

How can you apply?
  • Apply online via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

  • Complete new registration with mobile OTP verification and e-KYC.

  • Generate OTR ID through Aadhaar Face Authentication.

  • Login, fill the application form, upload documents, and submit.

  • Applications will be verified at the institution level and then by the State Nodal Agency.

  • Payment status can be tracked through the PFMS portal.
