Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for the Wards of States/UTs Police Personnel
About the Program

The “Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) for the Wards of States/UTs Police Personnel” was introduced by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India during the academic session 2019-20 to encourage higher technical and professional education for the dependent wards of States/UTs Police Personnel who are martyred during Terror/Naxal attacks. A total of 500 scholarships will be awarded annually in equal numbers to boys and girls (250 each).


Eligibility
  • Eligible applicants must be dependent wards of States/UTs Police Personnel martyred during Terror/Naxal attacks.
  • They should be pursuing their first professional degree in approved courses such as Engineering, Medicine, Dental, Veterinary, BBA, BCA, B.Pharma, B.Sc (Nursing, Agriculture, etc.), MBA, or MCA. Applicants must have secured at least 60% marks in the qualifying examination (10+2/Diploma/Graduation).
  • Renewal applicants must pass each academic year with a minimum of 50% marks.
  • A maximum of two children per family can avail of this scholarship.
Benefits
  • ₹3,000 per month for girls (₹36,000 annually)
  • ₹2,500 per month for boys (₹30,000 annually)
  • Duration: Up to 5 years depending on course duration
  • A personal letter from the Hon’ble Prime Minister to all selected applicants
  • Amount credited directly to the applicant’s bank account through PFMS under DBT

  • For new applicants:

  • Click on ‘New Registration’ under Applicant Corner.

  • Read the guidelines, accept the undertaking, and proceed.

  • Fill in required details to register.

  • For registered applicants:

  • Log in using your Application ID and Password.

  • Click on ‘Fresh Application’, select the scholarship, fill out the form, upload required documents, and submit.

  • Required documents include Aadhaar Card, passport-size photo, certificate from State Govt confirming martyrdom, MEQ mark sheet, death certificate, disability certificate (if applicable), and bank details linked with Aadhaar.
