About the Program

The Post-Matric Scholarship for VJNT Students, Maharashtra 2024-25 aims to provide financial assistance to students belonging to the Economically Backward Class (EBC) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) who have secured admission in Diploma, Degree, or Postgraduate Technical and Professional courses through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP).

This initiative is designed to support students from Vimukta Jati and Nomadic Tribes (VJNT) by easing their financial burden and enabling them to pursue higher education without economic constraints. The scholarship ensures that deserving students have access to quality education and can build a strong academic foundation for their future careers.

Through this scheme, the Government of Maharashtra reinforces its commitment to inclusive education and social upliftment, empowering students from underprivileged backgrounds to achieve academic and professional excellence

Eligibility

(As per the GR Dated 07th Oct 2017, 01st March 2018, 31st March 2018, 11th July 2019, 08 July 2024)

a) Applicant should have Nationality of India. b) Candidate should be Domicile of Maharashtra State. c) Applicant should be ”Bonafide Student of Institute” and admitted for Professional and Technical course (Diploma / Graduation / Post Graduation Degree) as mentioned in GR. d) Deemed University and Private university is not applicable. e) Candidate should be admitted through Centralized Admission Process (CAP). f) Applicant should not avail any other scholarship/stipend. g) For current Academic Year, Only 2 child from family are allowed for benefit of scheme. h) The Total Annual Income of Family / Guardian should not be more than 8 Lakhs. i) Minimum 50 % attendance in previous semester (Exception for first semester fresh admitted Student ). j) During course duration, candidate should not have a gap of 2 or more than 2 years.

How can you apply?

Eligibility Criteria To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Nationality & Domicile

  • The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
  • The applicant must be a domicile of Maharashtra.

Educational Requirements

  • The applicant must be a bonafide student of a recognized institute.
  • The candidate must be admitted to a Professional or Technical course (Diploma, Graduation, or Postgraduate Degree) as per the GR guidelines.
  • Admissions must be secured through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP).
  • Students enrolled in Deemed and Private Universities are not eligible.

Financial & Family Criteria

  • The total annual family income should not exceed ₹8 lakh.
  • A maximum of two children per family can benefit from this scheme in a given academic year.

Academic Requirements

  • The student must have a minimum of 50% attendance in the previous semester (except for first-semester students).
  • There should be no academic gap of two or more years during the course duration. Other Conditions

The applicant must not be availing any other scholarship or stipend.

Required Documents

For Fresh Applications:

  • Mark sheets of 10th (SSC) and onwards.
  • Domicile Certificate of Maharashtra.
  • Annual Family Income Certificate for the previous year.
  • Undertaking stating that no more than two beneficiaries from the same family are availing this scholarship in the current year.
  • CAP Admission Document.

For Renewal Applications:

  • Annual Family Income Certificate for the previous year.
  • Previous Year’s Mark Sheet.
