Pre Matric Scholarship For Students With Disabilities
About the Program

A scholarship scheme by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) for Students with Disabilities (SwDs) studying in Class 9th and 10th in a government or recognized school. It aims to support students with disabilities in pursuing education and preparing for a dignified livelihood.

Eligibility
  • The applicant must be studying in Class 9 or 10, have a disability percentage of 40% or more, and belong to a family with annual income not exceeding ₹2.00 lakh.
  • The applicant must not avail of any other scholarship or be the third sibling in the family.
  • Maximum two students from one family are eligible.
Benefits

  • Maintenance Allowance (₹ per month): Day Scholars ₹500, Hostellers ₹800 (for 12 months).

  • Book Grant: ₹1000 per annum.

  • Disability Allowances (₹ per annum):

  • Visually Impaired: ₹4000

  • Hearing Impaired: ₹2000

  • Physically Disabled (OH): ₹2000

  • Intellectual Disabilities: ₹4000

  • Other disabilities: ₹2000

How can you apply?

  • Visit scholarships.gov.in → “New Registration”.

  • Fill the Registration Form and create Application ID.

  • Login with ID, reset password, and access “Applicant Dashboard”.

  • Fill the Application Form and upload required documents.

  • Submit online. Institution must also be registered on NSP and verify the application.
