About the Program

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the application window for the Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship Scheme 2025. The scholarship is designed to support meritorious single girl students who have passed the CBSE Class 10 examination with at least 70 percent marks and are continuing their studies in Class 11 at CBSE-affiliated schools.

Eligibility
  • The scheme is open only to single girl children of their parents, including twins.
  • Applicants must have passed CBSE Class 10 in 2025 with at least 70% marks and now be studying in Class 11 and 12 in a CBSE-affiliated school.
  • Tuition fee should not exceed ₹2,500 per month in Class 10 and ₹3,000 per month in Class 11/12 (₹6,000 for NRI students).
  • The gross parental/family income must not exceed ₹8 lakh per annum. Renewal requires 70% marks in Class 11 and promotion to Class 12.
Benefits
  • Selected students receive ₹1,000 per month for two years (covering Class 11 and 12).
  • The scholarship is merit-based and transferred directly to the student’s bank account through ECS/NEFT.
  • It motivates students to maintain strong academic performance and provides financial support for education.
How can you apply?
  • Applications must be submitted online through the official CBSE scholarship portal.
  • Students need to provide personal, academic, and school details along with required documents: affidavit declaring single girl child status, attested copy of first quarterly fee slip, income certificate or self-declaration of annual family income ≤ ₹8 lakh, Aadhaar card, and bank account details.
  • Applications must be verified online by the school principal; unverified applications are automatically rejected.
