A scheme under SMILE - Comprehensive Rehabilitation For Welfare Of Transgender Persons, aimed to provide employment opportunities to transgender persons by imparting market-oriented skills. The training areas are chosen through consultations with the transgender community and training partners.
Transgender persons with valid Transgender Certificate & Identity card from the National Portal for Transgender Persons.
Must belong to the Transgender community as notified by the Government of India.
Not receiving benefits from any other Centre/State scheme.
No income criteria.
Age between 18–45 years.
Eligible to undergo training only once.
Free of cost training.
Stipend of ₹1000/month for non-residential training (with 80% attendance).
Certificate after course completion.
Post-placement assistance for wage/self-employment.
Psychometric test to identify suitable course.
Visit National Portal for Transgender Persons
Login with credentials used to obtain Transgender Certificate & ID card.
Go to Skill Training tab and click “Apply Now”.
Fill in Transgender Certificate number, personal details, state/district, training preferences, and Aadhaar-linked bank details.
Confirm application and get registered.
Candidate will be allotted a training batch and must undergo psychometric test before course start.
Maintain 80% attendance to receive stipend and certificate.
