Eligibility & Deadline
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be an Indian citizen.
- Be a domicile of Maharashtra.
- Belong to a minority community (Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, Jain, Sikh, Parsi, Jewish).
- Have secured admission through CET/competitive exam or based on Higher Secondary School (HSC) marks.
- Be enrolled in one of the following courses:
- MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery)
- BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery)
- BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery)
- BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
- BUMS (Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery)
- BPTH (Bachelor of Physiotherapy)
- BOTH (Bachelor of Occupational Therapy)
- BASLP (Bachelor in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology)
- BPO (Bachelor in Prosthetics and Orthotics)
- BPMT (Bachelor of Paramedical Technology)
- B.Sc./M.Sc. Nursing
- Ophthalmic Assistant
- Optometry
- Post Basic B.Sc Nursing
- Courses affiliated with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik
- Have a total annual family income of ₹8,00,000 or less.
Benefits
The selected students will receive a scholarship covering either their total annual course fee or ₹50,000, whichever is lower.
Required Documents
Applicants must provide the following documents:
- Aadhaar card
- Domicile certificate
- School leaving certificate
- SSC and HSC mark sheets
- Previous academic year’s mark sheet
- Father’s PAN card
- Student’s PAN card (optional)
- Mother’s PAN card (optional)
- Income certificate of parents/Form No. 16
- For students studying outside
Maharashtra, additional documents required:
- Copy of Fees Regulatory Authority (FRA) approval
- Bonafide certificate for the current academic year
- Letter from the concerned council/authority confirming that the institute is recognized
Note: The income certificate/affidavit must explicitly mention that the applicant belongs to a minority community.
How to apply
Follow these steps to apply for the scholarship:
Step 1: Visit the Official Portal
- Go to the Aaple Sarkar DBT Portal: https://mahadbt.maharashtra.gov.in
Step 2: Register/Login
- New Users: Click on "New Applicant Registration" and create an account using your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
- Existing Users: Log in using your credentials.
Step 3: Select the Scholarship Scheme
- After logging in, go to the "Scholarship & Benefits" section.
- Search for "Scholarship for Minority Students Pursuing Higher and Professional Courses (DMER)" under the Minority Development Department.
- Click on "Apply" to proceed.
Step 4: Fill in the Application Form
- Enter personal details such as name, Aadhaar number, contact information, and minority category.
- Provide educational details, including course name, college name, and admission details.
- Upload the required documents (Aadhaar card, domicile certificate, mark sheets, PAN card, income certificate, etc.).
Step 5: Submit the Application
- Carefully review all entered details and uploaded documents.
- Click "Submit" to complete the application process.
Step 6: Track Application Status
Log in to the portal and go to the "My Applications" section to check the status of your application.
Step 7: Verification & Disbursement
- The application will be verified by the concerned authorities.
- If approved, the scholarship amount will be credited to your registered bank account.
