About the Program

About the Program

The Women Involvement in Science and Engineering Research (WISER) 2025 program is a joint initiative by the Indo-German Science & Technology Centre (IGSTC). The program is designed to support and encourage female researchers in the STEM fields, helping them advance their careers in academia, research institutes, or industry.

Selected candidates will receive funding of up to ₹39 lakhs, along with additional benefits to support their research.

The Indo-German Science & Technology Centre (IGSTC) was established by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), Government of Germany.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a female researcher and a citizen of India or Germany.
  • Must hold a regular or long-term research position in academia, research institutions, or industry.
  • There is no age limit for this opportunity.

Benefits

Selected researchers from India will receive:

  • ₹1,00,000 (approx.) to cover travel, visa, and insurance costs.
  • A grant of up to ₹12,00,000 per year to cover project costs, including:
    • Research staff salaries
    • Consumables
    • Contingency expenses
    • Allowance of EUR 2300 per month for research conducted in Germany.
  • The funding is available for up to 3 years.

Required Documents

Applicants need to submit:

  1. No Objection Certificate (NOC) or an Endorsement Letter from the head of their current institution.
  2. Endorsement/consent letter from their Indian or German research collaborator.
