This scholarship aims to support higher education for single girl children and promote the norm of a small family. It is targeted at girls who are the only child or one of the twin/fraternal daughters in a family.

Award:
Eligibility: Must be a single girl child (only child, twin daughter, or fraternal daughter; not eligible if there is one son and one daughter). Must be admitted to the first year of a regular, full-time Master’s Degree course in any recognized university or PG college.
Organization: External
Rs. 36,200 per annum for two years (full duration of PG course).
No reimbursement for hostel, tuition, or medical expenses.
Can be availed with other scholarships.
Girls who are:
the only child (or one of twin/fraternal daughters),
enrolled in the first year of a regular full-time PG course,
studying in UGC-recognized institutions,
below the age of 30 years, are eligible. Distance mode students and those with a brother are not eligible.
Apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) once the application process is initiated.
The host institution must verify the application.
No tuition fees should be charged from eligible girl students as per UGC expectations.
Renewal is subject to promotion to the next year.
