About the Program

The Labour & ESI Department, Government of Odisha invites applications for the Nirman Shramik Kalyan Yojana Scholarship 2024-25. This scheme provides financial assistance to students from General, ST, SC, OBC, SEBC, and EBC categories who are wards of registered construction workers in Odisha. The scholarship aims to support students in Class 6 and above to continue their education without financial burden. Selected students will receive educational assistance of up to ₹40,000 per annum.

Amount: ₹2,000 – ₹40,000

Eligibility Description:

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be an Indian citizen and a domicile of Odisha.
  • Must be studying in Class 6 or above at a recognized school, institution, or university.
  • Must be a ward of a registered building or construction worker in Odisha.
  • Must belong to any of the following categories:
    • General
    • Scheduled Tribe (ST)
    • Scheduled Caste (SC)
    • Other Backward Classes (OBC)
    • Socially and Economically Backward Classes (SEBC)
    • Economically Backward Classes (EBC)
  • Must have a minimum of 50% attendance in the academic session.
  • Must have successfully passed the previous examination.

Note: Female students will receive an additional 20% benefit over and above the standard educational assistance.

Required Documents

Applicants need to submit the following documents:

  • Aadhaar card of the student.
  • Domicile certificate of Odisha.
  • Aadhaar card of the parent registered with the Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare (OB & OCWW) Board.
  • Building and Other Construction (BOC) ID card of the parent.
  • Bank passbook copy of the parent’s account (registered as a BOC worker), with account number and IFSC code.
  • College ID card of the student.
  • Marksheet/certificate of the qualifying examination.
