NEC Merit Scholarship for Students of NER 2025-26 is an initiative by the North Eastern Council (NEC), Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from the North Eastern Region of India for pursuing higher professional courses in recognised Indian institutions. Selected candidates will receive up to ₹30,000 per annum.
Amount: ₹20,000 – ₹30,000
Deadline: 2025-10-31
Award: ₹20,000 to ₹30,000 per annum depending on course level
Eligibility: Indian citizen and permanent resident of one of the 8 North Eastern States; pursuing diploma, degree, postgraduate, M.Phil., or Ph.D.; annual family income less than ₹8,00,000; minimum 60% marks in qualifying examination.

Diploma-level: ₹20,000 per annum
Degree-level: ₹22,000 per annum
Postgraduate: ₹25,000 per annum
M.Phil./Ph.D.: ₹30,000 per annum
Must be an Indian citizen and permanent resident of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, or Tripura
Must be enrolled in a diploma, degree, postgraduate, M.Phil., or Ph.D. course in a recognised Indian institution
Minimum 60% marks in the qualifying examination
Annual family income less than ₹8,00,000 from all sources
