About the Program

An initiative launched in 2011 to provide 5000 fresh scholarships every year for students from J&K and Ladakh to pursue higher studies outside the UTs through AICTE’s supernumerary quota. The scheme aims to improve access to education, build skills, and promote cultural integration under ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’.

Amount: ₹1,00,000 – ₹4,00,000

Deadline: 2025-12-31

Award: Academic fee (as per stream limit) + Maintenance allowance ₹1,00,000 per annum

Eligibility: Domicile of UTs of J&K and Ladakh, Passed Class 12 from JKBOSE/CBSE schools in these UTs or Diploma in Engineering from recognized Polytechnic in UTs, Family income ≤ ₹8 lakh per annum, Admission through AICTE counselling under supernumerary quota except in medical courses, Applied online and verified through Facilitation Centre.

  • General Degree: 2070 scholarships; Academic Fee up to ₹30,000 + Maintenance ₹1,00,000/year

  • Professional/Engineering/Nursing/Pharmacy/Architecture/HMCT: 2830 scholarships; Academic Fee up to ₹1,25,000 + Maintenance ₹1,00,000/year

  • Medical/BDS: 100 scholarships; Academic Fee up to ₹3,00,000 + Maintenance ₹1,00,000/year Maintenance is paid in 10 equal monthly installments through NSP.

Eligibility Description
  • Applicants must be domicile of J&K or Ladakh, have passed Class 12 from JKBOSE/CBSE schools in these UTs or completed Diploma in Engineering from recognized Polytechnic in these UTs, have family income ≤ ₹8 lakh p.a., and secure admission in eligible institutions outside J&K and Ladakh under AICTE’s counselling process (except medical courses for HSC/Lateral Entry students).
  • Candidates availing other scholarships, admitted through management quota, open universities, diploma courses, PG studies, or with income above ₹8 lakh are not eligible.
How to Apply

  • Register on NSP portal for OTR and submit application on SSSJKL portal.

  • Verify documents at Facilitation Centre in J&K or Ladakh.

  • Fill choices on SSSJKL portal (for HSC/Lateral Entry).

  • Check merit list on SSSJKL portal.

  • Participate in online counselling (AICTE) or competitive exam counselling (Medical/Own My Own).

  • Report physically to allotted institution and upload joining report.

  • Register on NSP portal with SSSJKL Candidate ID.

  • Institute verifies NSP application; AICTE approves.

  • Scholarship disbursed via NSP.
