About the Program

The PM-USP Central Sector Scholarship Scheme, launched by the Ministry of Education, The Government of India provides financial support to meritorious students from economically weaker families to help them pursue higher education. The scholarship is awarded based on Class 12 board exam results are available for students pursuing general or professional degree courses in recognized colleges and universities.

  • Total Scholarships per Year: 82,000 (50% reserved for girls)
  • Course Level: Undergraduate and Postgraduate (Regular courses only)

Award:

Eligibility: Students above the 80th percentile in Class 12, enrolled in regular UG/PG courses at recognized institutions, with parental income ≤ ₹4.5 lakh, and not receiving other scholarships.

Benefits:
  • ₹12,000 per year for the first 3 years of undergraduate and professional/integrated courses (like B.Tech, MBBS)
  • ₹20,000 per year for postgraduate studies
  • ₹20,000 per year for the 4th and 5th years of professional/integrated courses
Eligibility Description:
  • Must be above the 80th percentile in Class 12 (in respective stream and board).
  • Must be enrolled in regular degree courses (not distance/diploma mode).
  • Must study in institutions recognized by AICTE/UGC or relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Parental income must be ₹4.5 lakh or less per annum (Income certificate required only for fresh applicants).
  • Should not be availing any other scholarship or fee waiver/reimbursement scheme.
  • Must maintain 75% attendance and secure at least 50% marks annually for renewal.
  • Change of college/institute is allowed only if the new institution has a valid AISHE code.
  • Students must apply online via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) for both fresh and renewal applications.
