About the Program

The Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (FTEA) 2025-26 is an initiative by the United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF), designed for full-time senior secondary school teachers in India. This prestigious fellowship is a part of the broader Fulbright Program, named in honor of Senator J. William Fulbright.

This is a six-week, non-degree, non-credit academic program, where up to six Indian teachers will have the opportunity to participate in a U.S. university. The program aims to enhance teaching skills, provide exposure to U.S. education practices, and foster cross-cultural exchange. Selected participants will receive variable awards.

Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria To be eligible for the Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program, an applicant must:

✅ Be a full-time senior secondary teacher (teaching Classes 6 to 12) in a school that serves primarily local (not expatriate) students. ✅ Have completed at least five years of full-time teaching in one of the following subjects:

  • English
  • English as a Foreign Language (EFL)
  • Social Studies
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Special Education ✅ Be a citizen and resident of India. ✅ Hold at least a bachelor’s degree. ✅ Be present in India at the time of application submission and interview. ✅ Have obtained a minimum score of 61 on iBT TOEFL or an equivalent English language proficiency test (TOEFL scores are not required at the time of application; USIEF will provide instructions for shortlisted candidates). ✅ Demonstrate a commitment to continue teaching after completing the program. ✅ Submit a complete application before the deadline.

How to Apply for Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program 2025-26 Follow these steps to apply for the FTEA Program:

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

  • Go to the United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) website.
  • Navigate to the Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program section.

Step 2: Register/Login

  • If you are a new user, create an account using your email ID and password.
  • If you already have an account, log in to access the application form.

Step 3: Fill in the Application Form

  • Provide personal details (name, nationality, contact information).
  • Enter teaching experience details (subject, school name, years of experience).
  • Upload the required documents (CV, passport copy, degree transcript, teaching awards).

Step 4: Submit the Application

  • Review all details carefully before submission.
  • Click “Submit” before the deadline (March 7, 2025).

Step 5: Prepare for the Interview & TOEFL Test (If Shortlisted)

  • If shortlisted, USIEF will provide instructions for TOEFL or an equivalent English proficiency test.
  • Attend an interview conducted by the selection panel.

Step 6: Final Selection & Pre-Departure Orientation

  • Selected candidates will receive confirmation from USIEF.
  • Attend a pre-departure orientation in India before traveling to the U.S.

  • The applicant teaches in a school primarily serving expatriate students.
  • The applicant has not completed five years of full-time teaching
