About the Program

The Maintenance Allowance for Students Studying in Sainik School, Maharashtra 2024-25 is a financial aid initiative by the Social Justice and Special Assistance Department, Government of Maharashtra. This scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to Scheduled Caste (SC) category students who are studying in government or private Sainik schools across Maharashtra. The objective of this scheme is to help students from economically weaker sections cover their educational expenses.

The selected students will receive an annual maintenance allowance of up to ₹15,000 for 10 months.

Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Must be an Indian citizen.
  • Must be a domicile of Maharashtra.
  • Must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category.
  • Must be studying in a government or private Sainik school in Maharashtra.
  • Must have an annual family income of ₹2,50,000 or less.

Scholarship Benefits

The selected students will receive financial assistance based on the type of institution they are enrolled in:

  • For students in Government Sainik Schools (Satara, Nashik, and Pune): The scholarship will be provided as per the fee structure set by the School Education Department.
  • For students in Private Sainik Schools: A fixed amount of ₹15,000 per annum will be provided. The amount will be disbursed in two installments.

Additional Notes:

  • The maximum scholarship duration is 10 months.
  • If a student attends school for less than 10 months, the allowance will be provided only for the number of months they were enrolled, starting from the date of admission.

Additional Conditions:

  • Students from all education boards (except self-financed schools) are eligible.
  • 60% attendance is mandatory in the current academic year to receive the second installment of the scholarship.
  • Students who fail their academic year will not be eligible for this scholarship.

  • Caste Certificate – Issued by a competent authority to verify SC category status.
  • Income Certificate – Issued by a competent authority to confirm financial eligibility.
  • Fee Receipt – Proof of payment for school fees.
