About the Program

The Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students, Delhi 2024-25 is a centrally sponsored initiative offered by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India and administered by the Department of Welfare of SC/ST/OBC, Government of NCT of Delhi.

This scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to OBC category students pursuing post-matriculation/post-secondary education in government-recognized institutions. Selected students will receive financial support of up to ₹10,000 for tuition fees and an annual academic allowance of up to ₹10,000.

Amount: ₹10,000 – ₹20,000

Deadline: 2025-05-31

Award: up to ₹10,000 to cover tuition fees and an annual academic allowance of up to ₹10,000.

Eligibility: OBC student studying in class 11 and above

The selected students will receive financial aid based on their course category:

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must:

  1. Be an Indian citizen and a resident of Delhi.
  2. Belong to the Other Backward Class (OBC) category.
  3. Be enrolled in a post-matriculation or post-secondary program at a government-recognized institution.
  4. Have a family income not exceeding ₹2,50,000 per year.
  5. Have attained a minimum 75% attendance in the previous academic year.

Note:

  • Students continuing within the same educational stage but switching subjects (e.g., shifting from I.A. to I.Sc. or from B.A. to B.Com.) are not eligible.
  • Students pursuing a second professional degree (e.g., L.L.B. after B.T./B.Ed.) are not eligible.

Note:

  • Students pursuing C.A./I.C.W.A./C.S./I.C.F.A. will be considered day scholars for academic allowance.
  • Correspondence/online students will not be eligible for an academic allowance.
  • Tuition fees will be covered only for students enrolled in online/correspondence courses.

Required Documents

Applicants must provide the following documents:

  1. Aadhaar Card of the applicant.
  2. Aadhaar-linked bank account details.
  3. Certificates, diplomas, degrees, and mark sheets of all previously passed exams.
  4. OBC caste certificate (issued in the applicant’s or father’s name by the competent authority of Delhi).
  5. Original fee receipts for the current academic session.
  6. Official fee structure on the institution’s letterhead, signed and stamped by the head of the institution.
  7. Income certificate issued by the SDM/Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), Government of NCT of Delhi.
  8. Institutional certificate confirming that the student is not receiving any other scholarship or stipend.

How to Apply

Follow these steps to apply:

  1. Visit the official portal of the Department of Welfare of SC/ST/OBC, Government of NCT of Delhi.
  2. Register/Login on the scholarship application platform.
  3. Fill out the application form with the required details.
  4. Upload scanned copies of all the required documents.
  5. Review and submit the application before the deadline (May 31, 2025).
  6. Keep a copy of the submitted application for future reference.
